Wheel Free in Helsinki

Wheel Free in Helsinki happens every summer. One can get a Citybike from one of the 26 Citybike stands around the city centre. The deposit for a Citybike is 2 euros. When you return the bike to a stand you will have your 2 euro deposit back.

This is a great idea. I’d love to see something like that around here, but it really isn’t a bike-friendly city here in Hobart. We need more bike paths and drivers need to be a little more respectful to all road users. I will admit, that I don’t really have the nerve to regularly ride these days, which is a great shame.

Thanks for sharing another slice of Helsinki, it’s always fascinating to someone who has always had a ‘thing’ for Finland.
